I’ve earned a Certificate in Public Scholarship at the University of Washington’s Simpson Center, becoming the program’s first certificate recipient.
Public scholarship helps to forge important relationships between research institutions like universities, think tanks, and government agencies (i.e. places that do scholarship), and the different publics with which they engage (and yes, that’s publics, because what we usually call “the public” is actually made of multiple communities, i.e. “publics”).
